What is a LAMM?
A LAMM is a Little Automatic Money Maker. automated blogs are WordPress blogs that have been designed and set up to run automatically with negligable direct input from the webmaster in their day to day running.
automated blogs are monetised using several different streams: Adsense, Affiliate Links, Banners and text links according to the wishes of the owner.
Content is provided in a layered approach giving a mixture of posts from RSS feeds, syndicated article sources and unique content. The balance being under the control of the site owner. The LAMM can be a standalone system or the site owner may choose to make his/her presence felt through personal posts.
Because they carry relevant keyword and theme based content and are updated in a fairly natural manner the search engines like automated blogs and willingly come to feed from them. Indexing is thus not a problem. Of course, success in running a Little Automatic Money Maker is dependent upon how well the owner drives traffic to the site. The sites are search engine friendly with many visible and invisible features to help the search engines but the owner needs to market the sites for best effect. But, once the sites are indexed, even without proper promotion, the sites will still attract some visitors and a little money.

Hello,
I'm a little confused about what subject to blog about because of the nature of my interests and skills. The most important thing for me is to make a living if possible from my websites or blogs but the numbers (keywords vs. competition) for things I know never add up. Anyway I love to make computer art and photography but I think people like the cameras more than the photographs. I also love writing stories and science fiction but not interested in teaching the process of writing can't find a way to put stories into blog and make it work so thought I would turn my screenplay into a novel. So here is a list of things I know about most have big competition or no one on the net is searching for that subject.
Science Fiction writing
Photography
Computer art
Build your own home in one year and save more than half
Cameras
Movies
Which subject is most likely to be successful?
The keyword research software and tools leave me more confused.

I have no suggestions as to what might most successful. You DO need to do the research at some level in order to make choices. The research will enable you to find out what people are interested in and to serve their needs.
Of course in terms of making money you also have to consider what to sell.
If you are going to write yourself then as a starting point I would write about that which I could write about several times a week in an interesting way. I would then also seek products or services that are a good amtch for the topic about which you are writing.
At the end of the day there is an audience for almost any topic and you may not need a huge audience in order to meet your needs.

Many people use such automatic money makers in their wish to get much money from internet marketing but few succeed to do it because.Unless you’re willing to invest a lot in software and time learning black hat secrets, you’re better off just building quality, content-based web sites.So internet marketing is not only buying such an automatic money maker.
Carla, these sites that you see above, and this one are all offering quality content and value to all stakeholders, be they human or software (search engines). What we have done is worked hard to blend together different types of content to make the webmaster\'s life easier.
You don\'t need to invest in loads of software, you don\'t need \'blackhat\' techniques. I don\'t use \'em here. However, as I can see from your linked site, you may be doing good marketing but your site is undeveloped. So, you are fighting a battle with a blunt sword. Think of a LAMM as a sharp sword for internet marketing battles!
The most significant issue is marketing. A site built is a start, but the real success comes from marketing and promoting the site. That is where most failure comes from – a lack of marketing. A LAMM saves the webmaster a lot of time in research and also in building, it does not remove the need to research the themes and then to promote the sites.
These sites are automated in terms of their day to day operation, just as almost any efficient business should be, as far as possible. But the most impoprtant work still has to be done!
